Sovereign Grace Journal: Our Statement of Faith (December 2021)

I'm excited to let you know about the release of our 3rd Sovereign Grace Churches Journal. This third edition is devoted to our Statement of Faith. As a confessional document, the Statement of Faith unites our family of churches theologically, defines the sound doctrine we share, and protects our churches from error. It plays a vital role in our mission to plant and strengthen churches for the glory of God. One of the articles included is from Alex Chen who has written a helpful piece entitled, “The Value of Historic Creeds and Confessions,” that guides us in treasuring the great confessional documents of the church in past centuries. There are a number of pieces that reflect on a particular doctrinal truth affirmed in our Statement of Faith: Walt Alexander on the sufficiency of Scripture, Bill Patton on the attributes of God, Brian Chesemore on gender identity, and others. Please read it, and encourage others to do the same. I think you will find it beneficial and soul-stirring.

I would be remiss to not mention the men who served on the Theology Committee, who wrote and edited our Statement of Faith. The third edition of our journal is dedicated to them as an expression of our appreciation for the hard work they have done in serving our family of churches.
