Welcome to this resource for new and aspiring pastors within Sovereign Grace!

I grew up watching the VH1 (perhaps because MTV was strictly forbidden in our home) show Behind the Music. It told the story behind the music of the world’s most successful musicians and performers. The first episode was on Milli Vanilli, the next on MC Hammer. No wonder the show is no longer on air.

Ever since, I have been fascinated by what goes behind the scenes.

But it’s not just me.

We are hard-wired to watch and follow. Three minutes on Facebook will leave you convinced. So too, following Christ is not just something we are to read about, following Christ is meant to be something we watch and follow the example of others. Children are to watch and learn from parents, younger men from older men, younger women from older women, congregations from their pastors.

In this resource, I hope to provide you with a glimpse behind the scenes into the life and ministry of pastors throughout Sovereign Grace. Sovereign Grace pastors are some of my heroes. And so much of what makes their pastoral ministry faithful and fruitful is because of what happens behind the scenes.

Through articles, interviews, and opportunities, I hope to provide you with a glimpse Behind the Pulpit.

Walt Alexander serves as the Director of Leadership Development for Sovereign Grace Churches and is the Senior Pastor of Trinity Grace Church in Athens, Tennessee, a Sovereign Grace church plant.
